Crochet Coloring Book – Coloring Crochet Charts

Interweave Crochet Coloring BookCrochet and coloring, the perfect pair.

Doodling on a crochet chart is super fun, not to mention relaxing and inspiring! The charts can be used as a way to test out different color combinations. But if I’m being honest, that’s not how I color the pages in Interweave Crochet Coloring Book: 21 Stitch Motifs to Color. I color simply for the joy of coloring.

I enjoy both the symmetry of charts as well as hidden designs that lie within. Susanna Tobias, the project editor at Interweave Crochet, did a masterful job of expanding stitches and creating traditional and fanciful layouts. On one page alone I saw a butterfly, fish, peacock feathers, pine cones, finials and even mermaids! The book contains 21 pages of motifs with an unlimited number of coloring possibilities.

Crochet Coloring Book – Where It All Began

Sample Crochet Coloring Book MedallionsTalk of coloring books tailored to knitters and crocheters has been circulating around Interweave for a while and it totally resonated with every member of the Interweave Crochet team in early 2016. Marcy Smith, the Editor, lead us on a coloring adventure that inspired the ebook you see today.

Marcy spotted a treasure trove of colorability in the Interweave Crochet Summer 2012 issue. Under her direction, Susanna Tobias (Project Editor) tweaked and enlarged stitches and created 21 colorable layouts. I (Dana Bincer, Assistant Editor) set my crochet hooks aside, brushed the dust off my alcohol based markers, and colored several designs for the fun of it (someone had to test it out to see how fun they were to color – I know, a tough job). Kerry Jackson (Designer) pulled everything together to create an ebook that’s both beautiful and inspiring.
